Realistic training for neurological emergencies with HAL
HAL represents a significant advancement in medical simulation, offering a robotic mannequin capable of realistically reproducing the signs and symptoms of stroke. With new features such as asymmetrical facial droop and impaired motor control, HAL enables medical teams to train in stroke care protocols in a realistic and repeatable manner, improving coordination and decision-making in emergency situations.
Verbal and nonverbal communication
HAL® S5301 enhances provider training by combining streaming audio, facial expressions, and realistic movement to simulate patient interactions.
Active motor function
Right arm demonstrates hand shake, grip strength, arm raise, withdrawal reflex, and abnormal posturing. The patient is able to track the provider with their head and eyes.
Active motor function Right upper extremity demonstrates full range of motion against gravity, including hand shake, grip strength, arm raise, withdrawal reflex, and abnormal posturing. Oculocephalic reflex intact.
Pupillary response Pupils are reactive to light, both directly and consensually. Ocular motility: Ocular motility is abnormal, with evidence of strabismus and ptosis. Further evaluation is required to determine the specific cause of these findings.
Dynamic facial expressions The simulator is capable of displaying a range of realistic facial expressions, including facial droop, asymmetric smile, grimacing, and confusion.
Lifelike sensory response Pain response to pressure on supraorbital notch, trapezius, sternum, and right middle fingernail bed.
